Online Trading Academy Instructors

Fernando Gonzalez - Published Author, Instructor & Weekly Market Review Author

Fernando Gonzalez carries an extensive background in the direct access trading community, and has favorably affected the lives of tens of thousands of market participants. His combined talents as a top trader, distinguished technical analyst, master instructor and creative content developer are difficult to match. He serves an integral part of Online Trading Academy’s success. A graduate of Boston College, he got his start in 1996 as an independent trader, and in 1998 after making his way to top trader rank at the largest trading floor in the Western half of the US, he was selected to become Online Trading Academy’s first instructor.

Fernando started by developing Online Trading Academy’s original Professional Trader class, and went on to further develop the Active Investor, the E-Mini Futures, the highly celebrated Broad Market Analysis class and later in 2007, its Extended Learning Track (XLT) – Broad Market Analysis program. He was also responsible for training and teaching the original group of Online Trading Academy’s instructors, who went on to train a multitude of talented instructors on Online Trading Academy’s roster today.

In 1999, after much encouragement from his peers, Fernando wrote and completed his book “Strategies for the Online Daytrader.” This best-selling book, co-authored with friend and master trader William Rhee, and published by McGraw-Hill in the same year, was only the third book ever mass-published on the new generation of Direct Access Trading. Since that time, Fernando has expanded his extensive experience in the trading education industry through countless classes, lectures, articles and guest appearances in various media. Fernando has also successfully served as technical analysis, education, computer-aided trading consultant and risk management architect to some of the largest direct access trading and educational firms in the world.

In 2007, Fernando expanded his Broad Market Analysis methodology class into the new Extended Learning Track (XLT) - Broad Market Analysis program. This program has since made its way into one of the most successful educational experiences offered by Online Trading Academy today. Fernando’s love for the markets and his sincere desire to pass on his extensive knowledge continues today through his fascinating presentations in class, the XLT program, and many other Online Trading Academy events.

When asked what his objective is as an educator, he sums it up briefly: “I want to give each one of them a significant and positive eye-opening experience.” And on the topic of his trading, his objectives are even more brief: “To win, day in and day out.”

Testimonials

All I can say is Fernando is an excellent instructor! Broad Market Analysis is an excellent course! Very informative!! An eye opener!!!

Melody, October 2008

"Fernando Gonzalez’ BMA class provides candidates a wealth of info and perspective that I can both personally attest and speak for many of my most successful long term market associates is normally only acquired over a minimum of 3 to 7 years. His personal odyssey from a very short term perspective to incrementally broader analysis is the meaningful development curve of almost all of the great traders from previous eras. Key perspective are the focus on price as primary, focus on the differences between primary trends and reactions, key alternating roles of top-down and bottom-up analysis (which normally takes most folks many years to appreciate), use of multiple indicators across multiple time frames for confirmation, etc., etc. The presentation style was both authoritative and sensitive, and his ability to make analysis of relevant stock and index readings requested by students seemed to make more real and meaningful for all of the participants. A very well executed expression of a complex body of perception and methodology; I hope the students appreciate how much they received in such a brief time for reasonable treasure."
