Extended Learning Track (XLT) - Broad Market Analysis

  • Understand advanced concepts of technical analysis and risk management strategies

  • Watch a professional trader put theory and concept into action with live equities trading

  • See your Instructor’s charts and level II screen

  • Supplemental graduate online course for the Broad Market Analysis on-site class

In Online Trading Academy’s new XLT - Broad Market Analysis Program with Fernando Gonzalez, our students embark on a minimum 3-month journey to discover the beauty of the Markets. In so doing, we establish the foundation needed by our students to grasp the enormous complexity and vastness, but spectacular order by which the market operates on a day-to-day basis. Our ultimate goal: to equip our students with the complete and unabbreviated training necessary to survive, and ultimately dominate competing traders for many years ahead.

The XLT - Broad Market Analysis Program is designed by Fernando to be the ultimate Trading Education experience. It is the result of over 10 years of successful Active and Independent Trading in U.S. Equities combined with equally extensive educational delivery skills. It is the progressive delivery and practical application of the correlative strategies discussed in Fernando’s highly regarded Broad Market Analysis Class, but rather than using static learning models, the Live, real-time market becomes the canvass for learning under this program.

XLT - Broad Market Analysis FAQ

1. Is this program right for me? It is designed for, and will accommodate all Stock/Equity/Equity Index traders, of all experience levels, of all time-frames. Although we do not cover or discuss the Option market and related strategies, even Equity Option traders will benefit greatly from this environment due to mastery of the underlying instruments.

The program begins with the discussions of foundational elements, and then later moves on to very advanced concepts of Technical Analysis and correlative Risk Management Strategies.

2. Is this a new Program? This program is not entirely new. It is the evolution of over 10 years of stock trading education across many environments, beginning with informal education on the traditional trading floor, formalized classroom environments with Power-Point slide presentation and further to live Trading Demonstrations, to the earliest versions of online education, and on to more recent full-blown multimedia online presentations in group format.

3. What’s different about it? The difference is the heavy emphasis on education through the delivery of curriculum on a progressive basis over time, using the live market as a canvass for learning.

The delivery of Stock market trading education requires highly specialized skills in complex Real-Time Trend Analysis that is not merely accurate in analyzing and forecasting the market’s behavior, but also executed in a way that it seeks to impart knowledge to others at the same time.

4. What is WEBEX? Webex is an online, interactive, multimedia and live environment that we will be meeting in.

5. How do I log-in? You will receive a periodic e-mail that will provide both the link and the password to the online training center located in WEBEX. Select the XLT - Broad Market Analysis session for that day and time. Then enter your name, email address and password and click join. For technical assistance, contact Gregg Lumpkin via phone at 949-608-6004 or .

6. Do I need to install special software or hardware? You must have a fairly recent computer along with a high speed Internet connection. The first time you click the link to the correct session it will take you to an install page. This will only happen on the first time you log-in. Just follow the on-screen instruction and within 1-2 minutes, you will be in the session.

Some important WEBEX Links:

7. Once I am in the Session, what can I expect? The WEBEX session is a full-blown Multimedia environment. You will hear the presenter's voice, and will also see a real-time video feed of the presenter’s actual computer screen. You will see the instructor's presentations materials, charts and execution platform.

8. Will I be able to ask questions or participate? Most questions are typed in for the presenter and others to see; while some questions can be verbalized. In order to verbalize questions, we recommend a headset with a microphone which are relatively inexpensive and available at any electronics store.

There is plenty of capability for a true interactive experience, although we must follow some basic classroom rules, just so that the environment remains orderly. (A Room Guideline document will be included with the sign-up package).

9. What can I expect out of the sessions?

  • Students can expect that the focus of this online learning experience will be on TOTAL STRATEGY (Technical and Risk Management) that is measured over a larger time period (day-to-day, week-to-week) rather than the strategy involved in the intensity of any one particular moment or session.

  • The delivery of both CURRICULUM and MARKET ANALYSIS is progressive in nature. As the weeks go by, discussions and analyses are intended to increase in complexity.

  • ORIENTATION PERIOD: The first week of each month (known as the Orientation Period) will be dedicated to delivering the foundations needed to develop skills in advanced (correlative) Technical Analysis and advanced (correlative) Risk Management. The Orientation Period is a classroom environment, very similar to the topic discussions of the Broad Market Analysis Class. Slides and Visuals from the Broad Market Class will be used in addition to live market charts. The focus here is heavily towards foundation building and preparation for the more advanced Regular Session environment.

In the Orientation Period, the following concepts are introduced:

    • Multiple Time Frame Analysis

    • Multiple Market Analysis

    • Correlative (Advanced) Technical Analysis

    • Multiple Time-Frame Risk Management

    • Correlative Risk Management

    • Execution Strategy

These are then put into practice during the Regular Sessions which will also be the time to introduce and apply more advanced strategies.

  • REGULAR SESSIONS: On the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th week of every month, the program moves to Regular Sessions that discuss, analyze & strategize the real-time markets across a multitude of time-horizons. These sessions promote a more advanced discussion environment that is educational and progressive in nature, as we learn together, keep up with the constant changes in the market, and strategize the future.

  • Going forward the student will develop the correlative skills needed to cope with the complexity of the market, guided by Fernando.

  • The students can expect that by the end of the program, his/her trading skills, understanding of the market and price behavior, forecasting ability and overall Risk-taking strategy will be far superior to when they started.

10. Will there be live “Buy and Sell” calls? Students can expect an extensive amount of strategizing, as well as assistance in developing specific strategy and posture. However, due to the heavy focus on education as well as regulatory limitations, we do not offer specific Buy and Sell advice.

11. Will there be live trading demonstrations? Yes. While the program seeks to promote an environment that is centered upon a high level of correlative trading education, live trades are necessary to demonstrate the aspect of Intraday Trading.

In this Program, we are focused on strategizing future events, rather than taking advantage of any one particular moment. We must keep in mind however, that too much focus on live intraday trading is accompanied by intensity that will affect the delivery of education, particularly when multiple time-frame approach is at the heart of the program. Live trade demonstrations will be taken when intraday trading and/or advanced execution strategy are the specific focus of the session.

While live trading may not be a daily event or central focus, the student can expect that live trading demonstrations will be conducted frequently throughout the program.

12. Do I need to have an open account? Ideally, yes, although it is not required to participate in the program

13. How will former Broad Market Analyis Class students benefit from the Program? They will see what they learned in the on-site class applied to live market situations, and since they have been introduced to the concepts before, they will likely be the fastest to learn as well. If you enjoyed the BMA Class, you will most likely be fascinated by how its correlative strategies are applied in real-time situations.

Former BMA Class students are exempt from mandatory attendance of the Orientation Period.

14. Will this Program really teach me how to trade the Stock Market? Will it improve my Trading? YES! In more ways than you can imagine.

15. What if I cannot attend a session - will there be recorded sessions? Yes! One of the great features of the XLT-Broad Market Analysis program is the ability to watch recorded sessions in case you are absent, or even just to see the session a second time around. This feature is a favorite among XLT-Broad Market Analysis members!
